  • 100 Mile Swim Challenge 2024

    Record your swim miles to earn a bragging rights t-shirt for 2024! Distance Key: 1 Length = one end of the pool to the other (25 yards) 1 Lap = 2 lengths or down & back (50 yards) 1 Mile = 35 laps (1760 yards) GOAL = 100 miles (176,000 yards or 3,520 laps) Yards swam divided by 1,760 (1 mile = 1,760 yards) Swim aids such as snorkels, fins, paddles, pull buoys and kickboards are acceptable to use. 2 miles per week = 100 miles in 50 weeks 3 miles per week = 100 miles in about 33 weeks 1 mile per day, 5 days a week = 100 miles in 20 weeks
  • 197 Adult Lap Swim-Summer Evening

    If you haven’t dipped your toes in the new District 197 Aquatic Center, summer is a great time to visit. Enjoy the quiet, weather-proof, uncrowded lanes of our lap swim and let the kids take over the outdoor pools for the summer! Adult lap swim is open for anyone ages 18+ who can swim 50 yards continuously. This is a non-instructional, swim at your own pace opportunity. Registration is required as space is limited. Requests for cancellations/refunds must be received by our office 7 days prior to the first class session. A $10 service charge will be applied to your refund.   • Water Aerobics with Mary Ellen-Daytime

    This water aerobics class combines music and movement, using both the deep and shallow areas of the pool. It is designed to improve range of motion, flexibility, and strength of muscles, and cardiovascular endurance. Exercises performed in the deep water utilize a waist flotation belt to suspend the participant, allowing optimal joint movement and preventing joint impact. You will need an aqua fitness flotation belt. These are available online and at sporting goods stores. **Drop-ins are not allowed, we do not have cash/change on site.
